2012 Gladiator Racing Series Rulebook
Welcome Endurance Racing Competitors.
This is no longer an ENDURO series, it is a Long Distance Race Series
Here's your opportunity to join in the fun, thrills and excitement of Endurance Auto Racing. "The Closest you will ever get to NASCAR style racing", where the pit stops are crucial, durability is the key, a Crew can save the day, and where the driver needs to be on top of His/Her game.
WARNING!!! This style of racing is Physically and Mentally demanding. It takes a Good driver and pit crew at each event. This is NOT for everyone, but I offer the challenge to all drivers. CAN YOU SURVIVE A DAY, with The Gladiator Racing Series?
RACING PROCEDURES ARE UNIQUE!There are 5 different classes of cars competing at each event.
The V8 Pure stockand V8 Outlaw stockand Mad Max V6Classes will run 150-250 lap races together, with three winners in victory lane. Each event will feature, live action (NASCAR style) pit stops that bring more attention to the CREW. (New in 2012).
- A Caution Flag will now be used for accidents or debris on the track.
- After every caution period, there will be double file restarts with ALL cars starting in a two abreast formation for a rolling restart.
- At the Halfway point of each race, drivers will get a 45 minute break to make car repairs
- At every race event, There will be Pre-race Practice sessions.
The Gladiator Bandits, and The Warrior 4'swill run 50-150 lap races together, with two winners in victory lane. (New in 2012)
- This will now be considered an actual race event, NOT an enduro. There will be caution flags for accidents or debris on the track.
- There will be Mandatory Pit stops at the halfway point of each race and drivers will get to refuel and repair damage to vehicles.
- At each event, the race program will be changed based upon the Total of cars entered in all three classes.

If no more than 40 cars are entered at an event, between the two classes: ALL cars will be run together in a single race of 150 laps, with a 45 minute break at the halfway point.

If more than 40 cars are entered at an event, between the two classes: a process of Formula 1 time trials (Timed laps, during Practice sessions), Qualification races, a 40Lap B-Feature and a 100 Lap A-Feature will take place.
The Gladiator Endurance Auto Racing Pure stock, Outlaw stock, Mad Max 6, Gladiator Bandits, and Warrior 4's are open to stock passenger cars with very simple rules. Read this book carefully to understand all the required modifications (gas tank, roll bar, etc.) and the other few modifications allowed. If you have questions -- call first!
GENERAL DISCLAIMER. . .The rules, regulations and procedures on information set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of motor sports events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all Gladiator Endurance Auto Racing Series events, and, by participating in these events, all members and all others are deemed to have complied with these rules. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from the publication of, or compliance with these rules. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators or others.
The Gladiator Endurance Auto Racing Series management reserves the right to determine the intent of all rules and regulations regarding the conduct of Series events and to make changes, adjustments and modifications without notice in the interest of safety, better competition and according to the size of the field, the crowd, the track conditions, the weather, traditions, local rules or customs or other circumstances.

It is the Intention of the management for the Gladiator Endurance Auto Racing Series, to provide every competitor with a level playing field. Each competitor will have an equal chance to finish or WIN at every event.

Dominant cars, which have been judged to be in danger of ruining the spirit of competition, will be given specific guidelines to conform to, so that, The Best Show for competition and race fans, can be had. Examples (Adding weight, changing tires or Penalty laps)
"SPIRIT OF THE RULE"
Although every effort has been directed toward complete, understandable and correct rules, the Gladiator Endurance Auto Racing Series cannot possibly anticipate every situation, circumstance or interpretation. With this in mind, we must refer to the 'Spirit of the Rule'. 'Spirit of the Rule' means, very simply, the intent of every rule, classification, procedure and penalty as interpreted by management.
MODIFICATIONS, additional adjustments, changes, alterations, and/or replacements not covered by written rules should not be assumed to be legal under the 'Spirit of the Rule'.
INTERPRETATIONSof rules can vary greatly and it is best to contact the Series management for counseling if there is any doubt. Please call ahead with questions. Don't be disappointed at the track.
THE PHILOSOPHYbehind the 'Spirit of the Rule' is to provide the best organized, safest motor sports competition for the greatest majority of competitors, sponsors and spectators alike. 'Spirit of the Rule' will be the final criteria by which the rules of The Gladiator Endurance Auto racing Series will be interpreted and invoked.
NUMBER ASSIGNMENT

All drivers entered in The Gladiator Endurance Auto Racing Series events, will be given championship points. All Members who have gained Championship points in the previous year, will be allowed to secure their Number for the following year. All others may request a specific number by Series Management. Numbers range from 00-09 and from 2-999. The number 1 is reserved for the previous year's point champion, and if not desired will not be assigned. Letters can and will be considered part of a number (Example: 22X), For all classes of competition.

Numbers will automatically be reserved, as a race registration form is completed .first come, first served basis. Previous year registrants are able to reclaim their previous year's number if so desired. Check with Series management regarding possible number availability.

Number must be on both doors, at least 18" high and must be in a visible color. Cars judged by the scoring officials to be non-compliant will not be scored.
